Connecting past and present

Professor Jonathan Phillips (Royal Holloway, University of London) visited University College Dublin early in 2012 where he participated in a discussion on The Crusades with Dr Edward Coleman of UCD. As part of the History Hub.ie podcast series that discussion was recorded and edited into 4 separate individual podcasts.

Professor Phillips is one of the world’s leading historians on The Crusades and is the author of Holy Warriors: A Modern History of the Crusades (History Book of 2009, The Sunday Telegraph), The Second Crusade: Extending the Frontiers of Christendom (Yale University Press, 2007) and The Fourth Crusade and the Sack of Constantinople (Jonathan Cape, 2004) which was also shortlisted for the Hessell-Tiltman Literary Prize in 2005.
